Privacy

This site is part of building the game in public. We want to know which pages people actually read and which download channel works — that is the whole point. Below is what we actually do, as specifically as we can put it.

Last updated: 2026-08-22

What we collect

Page visits: which page you viewed, where you came from, which language the interface was in, approximate region, browser and device type, screen size. Beyond that only three kinds of clicks are recorded: which download channel you clicked, which community link you clicked, and switching the interface language.

What we do not collect

No session recording, no blanket click capture — apart from the three cases above, your clicks on the page are not reported. No names, phone numbers or precise location. Unless you type it in yourself, we never get your email.

Where the data lives, and who it passes through

Analytics are processed by PostHog, whose servers are in the United States. Your browser never talks to PostHog directly: requests go to a relay we run ourselves in Hong Kong, which forwards them — so your IP is not exposed directly to a third party. Comments and the footer visitor counter are handled by our self-hosted Waline service (running in Hong Kong, database in Singapore). Email subscriptions are received by our own service and handed to Postmark for delivery.

Cookies and local storage

Analytics use no cookies — only browser local storage. The site keeps three things there: the interface language you picked manually, a 24-hour timestamp that de-duplicates the footer visitor count, and an anonymous analytics identifier. Clearing this site’s data wipes all of it.

Bot protection

The email subscription form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It shows no challenge to the vast majority of visitors, and only appears when something looks suspicious.

How to turn it off

Enable “Do Not Track” in your browser and we will not collect anything — the site is configured to respect it. An ad or tracker blocker will also stop the analytics requests, and nothing else on the site breaks. Clearing this site’s data removes the local anonymous identifier.

Comments and subscriptions

Posting a comment requires registering with an email and a display name; what you post is publicly visible. A subscribed email is used only to send development updates, and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
